Elisa Bignante

Elisa is a social geographer with a keen interest in the use of participatory video and participatory photography. She is professor of geography at the University of Torino where she teaches development geographies, social geography and participatory geographies in the global south. She has 3 children (Sebatiano, Clara and Isabella) and loves palying and cooking with them. She and has more than 15 years’ experience in researching in the field of development geography and in the use of participatory research methods with local communities in the Global South. Her particular interests include indigenous knowledges, social marginalities, health and wellbeing,vtraditional medicines, international aid policies, natural resource management and the use of participatory visual methods to support local communities.
